Employment Law Workshop for KUFPEC Australia

The Project

KUFPEC Australia is a subsidiary of Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC), an international upstream oil and gas company engaged in the exploration, development and production of crude oil and natural gas.

Operating within Australia means organisations with an international footprint need to understand and navigate the local employment environment, including the respective rights and responsibilities of employers and employees.

As part of a broader range of People & Performance consulting services provided to its Perth office, KUFPEC Australia engaged the Fuse HR team to support the development and delivery of employment law training for its employees.

The objective was to provide staff with a clearer understanding of the Australian employment environment and the workplace obligations that apply to both organisations and individuals.

For an international organisation, this type of education plays an important role in establishing shared expectations and helping employees understand how Australian workplace requirements translate into day-to-day working relationships.

The Fuse Approach

To provide KUFPEC Australia with both practical HR expertise and specialist legal insight, our team partnered with global law firm DLA Piper to design and deliver a tailored Employment Law workshop for the Perth office.

The workshop focused on the rights and obligations of employers and employees within the Australian workplace.

Rather than approaching employment law purely from a technical or legislative perspective, the workshop was designed to help participants understand how these responsibilities apply within a practical workplace context.

Bringing together HR and legal expertise enabled the session to connect employment law requirements with the realities of managing people and workplace relationships.

The workshop provided employees with an opportunity to build their understanding of the Australian employment framework and develop greater awareness of the responsibilities shared by both employers and employees.

This collaborative approach also ensured KUFPEC Australia could draw on complementary areas of expertise: specialist legal knowledge from DLA Piper alongside the practical People & Performance and employee relations experience of our consulting team.

The engagement formed part of our broader relationship with KUFPEC Australia, providing People & Performance consulting support appropriate to the organisation’s Australian operations.

The Outcome

The workshop provided KUFPEC Australia employees with practical education around employment law and the respective rights and obligations of employers and employees in Australia.

By combining legal and HR expertise, the engagement helped translate employment requirements into information relevant to the workplace, supporting greater awareness and understanding among employees.

For international organisations operating in Australia, establishing this understanding can be an important part of creating consistent workplace expectations and supporting effective employee relations.

The engagement demonstrates Fuse HR’s ability to work collaboratively with specialist advisers where required and develop practical HR and employee relations solutions tailored to an organisation’s operating environment.
